Sheet metal is a common processing material in the manufacturing industry, and it is also a very important part of the entire metal industry. Sheet metal involves a wide range of application industries, including machinery, electricity, food, kitchen and bathroom, instrumentation and other industries. In recent years, the vigorous development of the manufacturing industry has driven the development of the sheet metal processing industry, and its annual market sales are also increasing.

With the development of sheet metal processing industry, sheet metal cutting technology is gradually on the right track in the market. Among them, the application of three-dimensional fiber laser welding technology once again improves the operation efficiency of the sheet metal industry, which is the selection trend of the sheet metal processing industry. We can see that after the fiber laser cutting machine appeared in the market, medium thick carbon steel workpieces have become more active than before. After several technical improvements and product updates, the fiber laser cutting process has greatly improved the processing efficiency of carbon steel materials and is widely welcomed by enterprises.

Before the advent of three-dimensional fiber laser cutting machine, manufacturers used plasma cutting, flame cutting and high-pressure water cutting processes to process carbon steel workpieces. These processes entered the market early, with low cost and simple operation, and have rich technical experience in the market. However, with the reform of technology and the change of time, some processes cannot meet the needs of modern and contemporary processing. For example, some cutting processes have certain advantages in accuracy and speed, but when cutting micro and small workpieces, their heat affected zone is still large and the effect of too wide cutting gap will indirectly affect the working efficiency of machined parts.

With the upgrading of fiber laser technology and the reduction of research cost, the demand of three-dimensional fiber laser cutting machine in the market increases and its application range is wider and wider. Three dimensional laser cutting machine has gradually won the recognition of the market with its advantages of high processing accuracy, strong flexible processing, strong processing stability and good processing environment. At the beginning of laser cutting medium and thick carbon steel workpiece, large nozzle oxygen cutting is selected. The section of this process is frosted surface, the cutting speed is slow, and the cutting difficulty coefficient is large. Later, in order to improve the processing efficiency, scientific and technological personnel continued to study and developed a bright surface cutting process. This process uses small nozzles and high-power lasers in the processing process, which not only reduces the processing difficulty coefficient, but also improves the smoothness of the section.

High power lasers are widely available in the market, and the processing methods of medium and thick carbon steel workpieces have different choices. Using compressed air and nitrogen as auxiliary gases to cut carbon steel workpieces, its cutting speed becomes faster and the cutting effect is smooth and flat, which is deeply loved by some manufacturers. The cost of compressed air cutting process is low, but sometimes due to the nature of the workpiece, the cutting section will be rough, and the slag will hang at the bottom. In addition, the problem of air cutting is that the gas concentration is not pure, which will pollute the cutting head lens or damage the protective lens. Therefore, when we choose the cutting process, we should choose according to the comprehensive factors of the machined parts.
