With the support of science and technology, the competition in the laser processing industry is becoming increasingly fierce. How to improve work efficiency, reduce production costs and expand the market is the concern of most enterprises. The three-dimensional laser cutting machine on the market has the advantages of fast cutting speed, small material deformation and flexible processing. It is a right-hand assistant in the manufacturing and processing industry. The production and application of high-power laser equipment can not only challenge the cutting of thin plate mechanical properties, but also make continuous breakthroughs in thick plate.
There are three kinds of auxiliary gases commonly used in three-dimensional fiber laser cutting machine: air, oxygen and nitrogen. The prices of oxygen and nitrogen are rising every year, and their costs are higher than compressed air. Compressed air must be used to reduce production costs.
Oxygen is mainly used for carbon steel cutting. In the process of cutting, oxygen and metal produce oxidation reaction, releasing a large amount of oxidation heat. At this time, the air pressure will blow out the oxide and slag from the reaction zone, forming a notch on the surface during processing. In case of a large amount of oxidation heat, it is not necessary to increase the power to avoid overburning at sharp corners.
Nitrogen is suitable for cutting aluminum and stainless steel, but it can also cut carbon steel plates with a certain thickness. No matter what kind of workpiece is processed by the three-dimensional laser cutting equipment, the higher the power, the greater the thickness of the plate that can be cut. Nitrogen cutting does not have chemical reaction with the workpiece. It depends on the heat of the laser to melt the metal, and then blow away the melt at high pressure. Stainless steel and aluminum plates are processed by three-dimensional laser cutting machine, which can get the effect of flat and smooth cutting surface.
Air itself is a kind of gas in the atmosphere. In order to achieve high purity air, it needs to go through multiple filtration steps to remove water and oil outside the air. The advantage of using air cutting is that it contains about 20% oxygen, which can make up for the shortage of oxygen and nitrogen to a certain extent, and it is the lower cost of the three gases.
From the perspective of cutting speed, air has no obvious advantages over nitrogen and oxygen. However, in the thickness of 8mm and below, the cutting speed of air and nitrogen will be faster than that of oxygen. When oxygen cutting is mainly made of carbon steel, the brightness and overall effect will be better than that of air and nitrogen.
According to the introduction of the three gas functions, suitable gas processing can be recommended according to the requirements that customers want to meet. If the requirements for cutting effect and cutting speed are not high, air cutting still has a greater cost advantage. When using air cutting, pay attention to the regular maintenance of the air dryer and air compressor. If the water and oil in the air enter the cutting head, the protective lens will fog in a short time, affecting the processing effect. If the protective lens is damaged, it should be replaced in time. If the replacement time is missed, it may cause damage to the internal lens group.
Manufacturers with a large number of products can use three-dimensional laser cutting equipment, and automatic intelligent processing will bring more benefits to enterprises. However, it is still necessary to choose suitable three-dimensional laser cutting equipment and processing gas according to their own needs.
